Featured on "Be Your Own Boss" with Boston 25 News!

I am beyond grateful for having my shop featured on the Boston 25 News segment "Be Your Own Boss" with Kelly Sullivan in September. Kelly and Camera Man Andy came to my NH home and Kelly and I designed our own fall wreaths in my workshop. It was so fun and she is quite the wreath maker!
While crafting away, we discussed how I transitioned from a 9-5 job that I loved to pursue a passion that I loved even more, working with faux florals and teaching others how to as well. I had to be honest that sometimes I've doubted my decision when the orders slow down or worse, just stop. I made the move to do what I love but I did it gradually and thoughtfully. Enchanted Vines is my true passion project but passion doesn't pay the bills!
For anyone considering going out on their own, first off, congratulations! You've identified something that you love so much that you want to pour yourself into fully into it! Since passion alone won't pay the bills make sure that you're prepared. Create a business plan, find a mentor, set attainable goals and proceed with caution to ensure the best outcome as you pursue your dreams. Lastly, find your tribe! This year I have connected with an amazing group of women in business and it has made all the difference. Just because you're in the drivers seat doesn't mean that you take the ride alone.
And if you're reading this and feel unsettled or uncertain about pursuing your passion, know that I am here on the sidelines rooting for you to succeed as you show this world all the gifts you have to give!
XO Kara
